The Keizer Fire District offers advanced life support ambulance service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you need an ambulance call 9-1-1.
Keizer Fire will respond in a matter of minutes from our main station near the intersection of Chemawa Rd & River Rd N. You will receive emergency medical care provided by the most experienced Firefighter/Medics in the area.
Our ambulances are staffed with at 2 Firefighter/Medics certified by the State Of Oregon. We carry all the equipment necessary to care for the sick and injured including:
LifePak Defibrillator/Monitor (the same type used in hospitals) for monitoring heart rhythms.
Defibrillator paddles to "shock" a heart back into a normal rhythm.
Digital instruments for checking blood sugar of patients with diabetes.
Medications to treat various medical conditions.
Spinal immobilization equipment.
Splinting equipment for broken bones.
And much more...
If you call for an ambulance sometimes a fire engine or rescue unit will respond with the ambulance to assist you. Our of our fire apparatus carry medical equipment. Frequently the fire engine will be staffed with 1 or 2 Firefighter/EMTs. Sometimes the fire engine will arrive before the ambulance depending on your location.
If you are a Keizer Fire District resident and do not have health care insurance or insurance which does not provide coverage for emergency Ambulance service, you should join the Capital FireMed Program. The Keizer Fire District began billing a service fee for ambulance service in 1991. A annual fee of $50 will guarantee full coverage for all Keizer Fire District emergency ambulance runs at no additional cost.
The Keizer Fire District Ambulance service is available for emergency response 24 hours a day, seven days a week to anyone in need of help within the fire district limits. The Keizer Fire District will not refuse emergency service to any individual who requires an ambulance.
